This is the Archer who refused to follow the order of the Great Landlord to shoot the Kingfisher for stealing his fish. After all, reasoned the Archer, the Kingfisher is only following his way, which is to fish.
This print also contains a discovery...the design on the Archers coat are from the Haida Indians of the Queen Charlotte Islands. The design on the Archer's hat is from a 1600 B.C. Shang Dynasty mask...consider the similarities.
