Here stands the Shaman–the "Salmon Watcher." He stands amongst the great Spruces and Cedar in his Amur Valley Salmon skin robe. He holds high in reverence the great one and tells the people that it is now time to harvest the Salmon that will sustain them through winter and early spring. This image is gone now as are the great Salmon, Cedars, and People. They disappear in numbers we don't count because we don't care.
Someday we might, but by then it will already be over. Be mindful, the First People said once, "the way of the Salmon, as they go, so do we." Shame on us.
